as title really, i smoke about 15 a day and have done for 13 years now. More and more recently i have thought about giving up and have tried before but failed. Just dont seem to be able to go more than a few days What methods have you tried and what worked for you? Thinking maybe trying the patches through the doctors etc.

All advice and suggestions welcome

I have only been smoking 6 years but really want to stop and cant,

the girl hates it and it would be nice of me to stop!

A guy I used to work with would smoke 40 in 8 hours, plus however many he would smoke before and after work. He had a heart attack and quit smoking just like that.

TBH anyone who says they cant stop just doesnt really want to.

If you dont want to do something, no matter what the addiction, then you wont do it. End of.

Replace the cigarette with something, like a drink of water, or whatever, then when you want a smoke, go outside and have a drink instead.

Then all you have to do is give up your addiction to water

I have tried quitting a few times. I really dont like smoking, and i know it is fucking me up, but it's soo bloody hard! i know it's hard if you work with people that smoke, but, i find if im not around people smoking, it's so much easier not to smoke.

One of my mates just quit with normal chewing gum, every time he wanted a ciggy he chewed gum, and it took his mind off it aparently.. could be worth a try

i can go the day at work without smoking as im the only smoker there so less incentive to go outside and chat whilst having a fag, but at home my mum smokes and my sister smokes when she comes round. Think ill just try the patches from the doctor for the moment see how i get on.

Fair play to those that just stopped and never looked back tho, ive tried and failed a few times.
