i just fitted a remus straight through centre pipe with a peco boxer twin backbox which is rasping like hell! is it just the backbox making it rasp like hell?what should i do?

Do you have you cat still on. At around 3-3.5k i get an almost rasping noise.
Now i have my cat back on for the MOT that noise has now gone.

As Steve said, have you noticed a loss in power Steve since swapping to the cat?

that a big fat YES!!!
There is no power now at the top end of the revs. I used to smash it onto the limit in 4th all the time but now it doesn't even want to limit out in 2nd.
It's sooo silent now. My ears are no longer ringing

i thought it was just me that noticed the stupid thing pegging back power, just had no go in it what so ever. i missed the little rasp too

Confused  you saying the cat held power back or the decat made less power top rpm

managed to sort it,turns out it was the peco boxer backbox making it sound like a chav mobile!what backboxes you lot got with a cat back exhaust? any sound clips?

i have a rasping noise from 3k on my X14XE havent been able to sort it at all, got a janspeed center and rear (used to have a crap back box and center), hoffman soprt cat 200cpi, and sportX 4-1 sport manifold,
started happening when i put a back box on the car and aint gone away since, any ideas?

i think the rasping from 3k is normal to be honest and something youve gotta put up with.As ive said mine now sounds spot on but i have put the standard backbox on but want a stainless one so would like to know what make other people have so i dont buy anothe rchav box that sounds gay!!

The cat pipe held back power at top RPM, alot better with a decat pipe but mines a modded X16 like steves
