right i am doing an engine conversion to the 1.6 sport from the 1.4 sport which means i will be changing the ecu.

I have the ring and the chip for the ecu but atm i currently have a clifford alarm.

will the alarm effect me when i change the ecu, or does the alarm have nothing to do with the ecu??

i would have thought the alarm didnt affect the ecu internally

Clifford alarms are wired to the body loom of the car. You can remove the engine loom and ECU and put another one in with no preoblems.
