Came very close to buying a fresh import mint white STi 4 at the weekend. however taking into account how much it would cost to facelift to V5/6 spec decided might as well slightly up the budget to STi 5 money.

Right, having blown the budget even more on an ebay auction for a white STi 5 today which didnt meet reserve and pulling myself away from going for a Zero sports modified V4 Type R (which was spunk inducing btw but potential time bomb) have put an offer in for a dolphin grey STi V5.

Will get an answer in the morning, perhaps the hunt has come to an end. have estimated probably spent 30 man hours on hunting for an unmolested/sensibly modded V4/5 STi.

fingers crossed, as this example is stunning. Dare not post pics case i jinx myself.

No its not a Type R, Its going to be a daily driver. I had a V5 Type R gearbox on my last impreza and whilst good fun it was a barstad for any journeys longer then a few miles. Also id prefer to have ABS.

Sure the 2 door looks nice, but doesnt bother me having the saloon.

plus a Type R automatically adds 1.5-2k to the price, cant justify that either. with my budget it would be a mint V3 (disgusting interior) or a ropey V4 Type R.
