Hey all, ive been looking at the site for a while although thats me just sold my old car and starting to mod my corsa!

Its a 2000 1.4 sport, in arden blue.. standard at the moment.

I am looking to go as low as i can with a set of 15" alloys if possible.

I was wonderin whats my best options, have seen coilovers that go down 120mm etc although i really am not looking to spend that much, i also do not think there are 80mm springs for a corsa are there?

i would not grudge spendin 200 odds on a set of coilovers, however most of the decent ones i have seen have been 400+

Thanks for any help...

Craig

Edit: sorry just realised there us a modification help part of the forum, if you wish to move my post there that would be appreciated!

It is recommended not to go lower than -40mm on standard shocks. For the best, get coilovers, or shocks and springs, as long as they are uprated.

thats already way to low

-40mm on a decent set of shocks and springs is the best trade off between looks and handling.

eibachs and billies are a good combo

well imo again, i thought the idea of lowering was to either make it handle well or look good.

that does neither, for me anyway imo

I would advise against cheap coilovers/suspension in general. People will say their FK's ore good, but trust me they arent. Until you have experienced good suspension then you may think FK are good. Same goes for PI, Jamex, Gmax etc....

if you have £200 spend about £100 on decent springs such as eibach or H&R.

a decent quality spring and damper set will cost you around £330

coilovers that are worth the cash start at £500.

steve loves a good internet argument doesnt he

bet he would argue that grass isnt green if you told him it was. I do agree with steve about the handling issue though.

exactly..

the car dont get driven hard or have a decent engine, so doesn't need to handle "mint"

i like how it handles like that, its not a track car, or a back lane slag, just a comunter to get me from here to there, so it's fine out it is

thank you.

it doesnt harm to point out that "low as you can" isnt necessarily best, he might be under that impression
