are there different diameter drive shaft for different specs?

are there thicker shafts for the 1.6? as when the 1.6 goes in, might need some stronger shafts

There probably all the same thickness wise.

The shafts you have will be fine.

My 1.6 has been fine with shafts that came on my 45bhp 1.2i.
