My uncle and aunt got one

Cool as fuck, I like it far more than the astra VXR they had before this.

07 Plate in arden blue, the V6 sounds amazing, way better than the astra.

Will try and get some pics over the weekend when I get my new phone.

Old astra:

Well I didn't say it was going around, it was parked up, but I was under the impression they understeered even when motionless?

I followed one of these (or should I say tried to follow) out of Sainsburys. It had only just started up and the burble from the exhaust on idle was amazing.

Middle age with kids doesn't sound too daunting, when they produce cars like the Vectra VXR

I also like the Zafira VXR. The seats look mean.

I often see a Vectra VXR estate going the other direction in the mornings......looks like a proper shed

Normal VXR looks OK tho but I prefer the Astra

Funny that he managed to drive the MK5 Golf GTI...Focus ST...Astra VXR all perfectly fine.Oh and just about every other FWD he's tested in his careeer.

And the stig drove it too and it was a shambles. The only thing i can think of is the geometry settings were fuked up etc making it bad on the day just like the Focus RS seems to be somtimes.

If the veccy is such a bad handler...

Then why did Vauxhall change from a Mk5 Astra to a Vectra this year in the BTCC.... OF which they are doing very well too...

Veccy is not a bad car. Its a big car, with a big engine up front, its going to understear if pushed.

Wait for the new 300+bhp version

Yeah daimo because BTC's are the same as road cars arn't they

Again the Stig drove the car too. There are lots of big cars with engines up front and they don't understeer like that did.

Not at all, but if a fully modified spec'd astra is out-paced by the vectra, it does mean that the chassis base has to be better.

Do the same amount of things, taking the chassis of both models to the extreme they can do, and the vectra performs better.

TBH, the veccy VXR is a motorway muncher, not really a sports track type hatch as of the astra.

I suppose so but there might have been more reasons why the team decided to change it to the vectra chassis.Maybe it's can handle the extremes of the suspension/tyre set up better than the astra.

They are good enough cars though i quite like them BUT you can't promote a car as 'sporty' if it handles the way it does. That's assuming they really do handle like JC and top gear rekons.

That was the early Veccy VXR the revised ones are good handlers and if you read decent motoring press such as EVO they rated it well.

YEah, the Vectra has gone through a few changes.

CN - TBH, I don't tend to listen to anything Clarkson says, as it always seems to be the opposite of what everyone else says when the cars are tested. Whilst he can sometimes be funny, he does test the cars in strange ways.

Vectra's main benefit was slightly improved top end speed due to the shape of the car. I think the high speed cornering works much better on the longer wheelbase of the Veccy.

Yeah your right Fad EVO did rate it pretty well.

Must have been a duff car.I agree with you too Daimo that JC can be weird. One day he'll say one thing then the next another! One minute the GT3 Porsche was the best car ever now he hates them all of a sudden

I want his job
