3 CYLINDERS

Its a 1.4 so is ment to be running a good four cylinders, pretty happy that with some new wiper blades and screen wash it will fly past just worried that maybe the 3 cylinder issue may affect the emissions

lol Lergi I have checked my plugs, thanks for the advice.

Got new ones from halford which made it worse with more juddering.

Pulled the ht lead of the coil pack and it didnt change nothing so linked it to that.
Tryed the others and it cut out.

Im off to check my plugs again, another check in the moring just to make sure.

They will refuse to do an emmisions test if its only running 3 cylinders so it would fail its mot

put a HT lead from one of the working cylinders on the one which isn't firing now, see if that helps.

If it still runs, then it's the HT leads or coil pack.

It WILL fail an MOT only running on 3.

My head gasket seems to be on the way out rapid loss of water and today when I ran the engine seems like a petrol smell in the coolant bottle with white mist comming out.

Will try wd40 down the spark plug hole ?
Will change the head gasket but need the tax to keep the car on the road

Wouldn't have thought they would say anything, as long as it passed the emissions test.

my first car failed becuase it was only firing on 3 cylenders, they said it wasnt safe for the road, as it could stall at any time and cause an inconvienience or an accident, seems like i had a fussy tester tbh

I live in a flat
no garage
no drive
Just had a tumour removed and need to get to physiotherapy

seems like coilpack tryed different leads and still couldn't get the 2nd cylinder to start and when I pulled the ht lead of the coil pack it would not stall.
But when I go to reconnect the ht to the coil it shoots sparks to the ht lead which I can clearly see. !

Is there a slight clicking? Check the plugs, I had a crack in the ceramic which was fucking things up for me, a VERY fine crack, put a new plug in and it was good
