My mate currently has a Mk4 Golf Cabriolet. He's wanting a new car, something that will give a wow factor when driving, can be driven on a daily basis and has to be convertible. Any ideas people?

Hes 21/22, but the only real killer is insurance as he was on his parents when he was younger. He looked at S2000's, but didnt want to pay the £3k insurance they was asking. He was looking at Elises, but not really a practical car + he said the older one's came with a rover engine , which put him right off So it must mean he dont want to pay the money for the Newer toyota engine'd ones. Engine size isn't a problem, aslong as its a good enjoyable drive. Definatly says he wants a convertible. Most stupid thing is, he is a Train driver and takes home over £2300 a month . If I was on that money I couldn't care less about the cost of insurance.. Thanks in advance.

Lovely looking car, but thinking it looks more refined. Not exactly going to give a great driving feel, if you get what I mean.

MX5? Bit gay looking but supposed to be good to drive. Newer MR2, again bit homo looking but decent little cars. Astra cabs are ok but its never going to be 'exciting' to drive.
