Goin on from the beer belly thread, i have really knuckled down at the gym and got myself workin on a pretty decent program, but food is my downfall,

I like healthy food, and i do eat it, just not often enough. I struglly with 3 things, 1. I get hungry VERY easily. 2. I find it to easy to eat non healthy foods as they as so quick and easy and readily available. and finally 3. I find it really hard to make up meals with all the healthy foods

So basically what i want to know is what type of healthy meals do you eat, as at the moment im mainly eating,

1. Jacket potatoes
2. Chicken
3. Fish fillets
3. Pasta
4. Rice

but im strugling to make dishes out of these foods, and find them inspiring to eat, any suggestions

nothing wrong with any of these foods, but depends if you want to cut up or put a bit of size on, because they are all carbs (clean ones at that) but they will not help you to lose weight as well as say, just a bit of meet and veg, if you get me, 1 carb meal a day is good enough, and eat every 3 hours, eg fruit, natural yoghurt, rice cakes!

work is also a big down fall so i try not to take my wallet to work, i just take butties pack of snack a jacks and a nutri grain bar,

i know the listed items are good, im just lookin to see other items people east and what meals they make with them.

i want to loose a bit of weight, but my body build its never gonna mean i will be skinny as i have wide shoulders and quite a big rib cage, im just lookin to focus on changing what im got into toned up muscle where possible

right, well for breakfast, have something like weetabix with skimmed milk or oats etc, but obviously no sugar, get rid of the bread for your pack up, and have chicken wraps or pittas with salad etc, then 3 hours later some a yoghurt with 2 pcs of fruit, then have a proper meal at night, chicken caserole etc, and try not to eat after say 8 o clock, but if you are too hungry then have weetabix, as its slow digesting and wont digest straight into fat while your asleep!!!! ok

Depends on what kind of diet your on.

Pasta and Rice can be fattening on some due to them being high in carbs...??

yes they are high in carbs, like i said if you are wanting to but size on then you have these because they are complex carbs (well brown rice anyway) because you have to eat more carbs then you burn off, but if you want to lose weight that is why i said 1 carb meal will be enough a day (well thats what i did anyway over summer) but everyone is different

I'm interested in this. I eat pretty heathly and where I work I can get my hands on pretty much anything. My goal is weightloss, I have 2 weetabix (semi skinned milk) in the morning, at lunch it will be a sandwich or a jacket with something and then for dinner I'll either skip or like last night I had a wicked omlette. Id' like some advice please

tinned fruits, just make sure you check ingredients as most of these have alot of added sugar in the juices etc. Double check the ingredients etc.

At first, the only steps you need to do is eat small amounts every few hours and make sure its clean healthy food, protein in every meal (helps to keep you feeling full aswell as other benefits, but wont go on about it as to much info can confuse you)
Forget any "supplements" and certainly forget "fat burners" as you won't need them as your just starting out.

Heres my current diet (just as an example, i've been going a while though so ignore the supplements etc like i said you dont need them)

This is a typical training day (currently 3 day split mon/wed/thurs) I'm losing bodyfat (whilst retaining muscle).

TIME ACTIVITY FOOD
6am cardio (45min slow, steady pace)
7am 50g muesli or oats in small amount of skimmed milk
30g of whey with 5g peanut butter in
one small apple
9.30am 125g chicken/turkey breast or tuna
wholemeal pita bread or 50g basmati rice or wholemeal pasta or 2 weetabix
veg selection
5ml flax oil
12pm 125g chicken/turkey breast or tuna
wholemeal pita bread or 50g basmati rice or wholemeal pasta or 2 weetabix salad
no fat/very low fat mayo @ 20g
1pm train water throughout
2pm 30g whey protein in water
2 weetabix
20g dextrose or Palatinose
3.30pm 125g chicken/turkey breast or tuna
wholemeal pita bread or 50g basmati rice or wholemeal pasta or 2 weetabix
veg selection
5ml flax oil
6pm 125g lean red meat
small sweet potato or 30g rice or 30g or wholemeal pasta
veg selection
5ml olive oil or flax oil or 10g mixed nuts/seeds
9pm 200g low fat cottage cheese or 30g myprotein bedtime extreme in water
5ml fish oils (5 caps)

tell me about it ssj, i used to try and make it more appealing by flavouring chicken etc but it added to the effort so much. I just eat it all mainly plain now and just chuck it down my neck.

Eat to live not live to eat etc etc etc etc

Which protein shake you have before bed, a casein/slow digesting one yeh?

yeah well ive ran out at the min, im after a new one tbh the one i was using before was so poor, it would just not mix even in a blender the only way i could get it to mix would be to heat the milk in a pan and sit and stair it into a pan for 15 mins it was so annoying lol.

yeah i know what you meen i used to try and add things to make it taste nicer but in the end it just takes more time, might aswell just chuck it down your neck.

Ive lost 4 stone in 6 months, not by changing my eating habits drastically but by making better choices and exercising

I eat alot of fruit, veg and chicken. Our 'treat' is diced chicken/turkey breast with stir fried peppers, onions and mushrooms made into wraps teehee

Also eat more fish now, tuna etc

Exercise 3 times a week for an hour

Is Beef Jerky any good? High in protein and very very low in fat.
