very nice cars, if i was going to put different wheels on, id either put some audi RS8 18s on or some RS6 18's on, think thats all they need to look good, also try to find one with the recarro leather in, really comfy

My Dad had one for 3 years. Climate control, dash loading multi changer, slightly differant seats to the GTi, quite a few subtle differances to other Golfs, polished bonnet and boot lifters, twin exhaust.
More of a GTi than the GTi, repspectable figures too, and once rolling is very nippy and responsive.
Audi S6/8 alloys would be perfect.

Hope you meant the 2.0 n/a and not the 1.8 turbo

1.8t has no soul, the 24v VR6 has it in buckets.

Those ones are 410 at the mo even with the laquer peeling off, still may try and get them

They will be lucky to get that for them imo.
As for the laquer, dont VW cover this as its a common fault? My neighbour had the anniversary edition golf and same prob with the wheels and VW dealer sorted it for him.

Yeah they sorted out an improved set where this wasn't suppose to happen not sure if they would do it if you buy them second hand though.
There was a set of the replacements up for sale on there but i missed them so didnt see what they went for in the end.
there are 17's on there for around £600 but the 18's suit it nicely imo

LM's for me - if your lookign at cheaper wheels do the RS8's as the RS4's are so common and the RS6's do not suit them
Try the TT QS wheels for something different
See mine below - can get different centre caps
