I'd feel exactly the same.

Wouldn't some kind of respray be cheaper than the hassle of splitting, selling and buying another?

Well nothing was done to it last night, which is a good start.

I am planning to flat it back and get the writing out, then maybe just try polishing it with my mates orbital polisher and see if it can bring it back up at all. If not, I will just give it a quick spray with Halfords rattle cans for the time being, get it looking sort of ok, so that if it is a personal attack they will come and do it again when it hasn't cost much to put right, rather than have it professionally resprayed yet.

The final plan is over the Christmas holiday from Uni, myslef and so far 6 mates are going to flat it down and prep it for a respray, which I have had a quote so far of around £200 if all the painter has to do is roll in, spray and roll out again. The bodyshop also do insurance accident repair and have been used by mates in the past, so should be a pretty good job I hope!

Agreed Alex, but as I told you I was planning on respraying the car anyway, I'm just glad this was done before I got the spray job done.

did you inform the police about it, not sure how they could help but just a thought.
Even when you do get the respray no way of making sure they wont do it again.

Seems like this country is getting worse and worse no respect for other people things

Yea police have been told, but couldn't do anything as there is no CCTV in the area, and the rain would have washed away any fingerprint evidence.

The Crime squad told me I would get a phonecall or visit from the local Constabulary - not appeared yet.
