205 GTi's are renowned as one of the best hot hatches out there with great handling... never owned one myself but I imagine they're bags of fun!

Had 1 when i was 18 great car it had a 1.6 gti gearbox fitted full magnex with 4 branch manifold and K&N induction kit.

No pics as this was before the digital camera age.

Head gasket blew and water pump failed was ok apart from that.

Found a couple of scanned pics from an old school camera.

They were the definative hot hatch from the late 80s

For the same price as a GOOD 205, you can get a VTS Saxo. Superior handling, much quicker and a better car mate.

Yeah I'd personally rather have the VTS, can't comment on the handling mind, but they're both meant to be good handlers! Don't think the VTS is that much quicker though?

Ive had all three, 205 GTi 1.6, Saxo VTS and 206 GTi, all have there merits, VTS the best performer and handler, 206 GTi close second, 205 GTi was great fun very nippy and great handling, although I would say the VTS edged it in the handling stakes, 206 GTi was just a more comfortable version of the 2, much nicer place to sit
