A nail bomb has exploded underneath a car, believed to belong to a teacher, near a boys' school in Liverpool.
The blast happened outside St Edward's College, in Sandfield Park, West Derby - an independent Catholic boys school.
Merseyside Police has confirmed that officers are investigating a security alert at the school, which happened at about 1450 BST.
A spokeswoman confirmed an explosive device was involved in the incident. There are no reports of any injuries.
'Nobody injured'
Roads around the school campus, which is a few miles outside the city centre, have been cordoned off by police.
Insp Michael O'Callaghan, of Merseyside Police, said: "There was an explosion under a car at the school this afternoon.
"What caused the explosion and the reasons behind it, we are investigating.
"Nobody has been injured and there has been no collateral damage.

haha, just look in the news, things like this happen an awfull lot,
Yes i agree, it happens all over the country.
But living in liverpool, to me, it seems like the problem is worse here.
Yeh it is in places like manchster, but manchester is twice the size
And tbh, walking round liverpool, anywere other that the main parts is just fucking scary imo

This is true. Or at least it was for me and my mate when we went up there last year.

TBH its no more common than any city.
I feel safer walking round parts of Liverpool than I would round Manchester (and Ive lived in both!)

Ive seen people get off trains (and trams) in Manchester when a big gang has got on. Also seen people not come across the bridge infront of mine as they'd have to go past some chavs.
Its the same in all big cities, Im not saying Liverpool is better than others when it comes to crime, but its certainly no worse.

Hmm, supose so.
Just from living in both places, liverpool does seem worse to me
There is a reason why people always joke about lvpool, like if youre going to liverpool, hold onto ure bags
Or if youre driving through, you wont come out with any wheels!
And thats why people with a scouse accent are less likely to get a job than any other person (not all people with scouse accent at all tho)

Liverpool isnt even in the top 10 for car crime (and vast majority of others), so thats just a pure stereotype, much as saying if you go to Ireland be careful as they are all stupid. Or Scotland as they are all drunks.

Depends on the job really, but it goes for any regional dialect.

Lets just leave it as that then.
