I'm sick of non uni people's attitude to people at university.

It's like they think your wasting your time / dossing...

Is it jealously? That they didnt go?

Basically, today someone said 'Haven't you already graduated yet?' - (I took a year out before, to go to college for some further education) and this year has been a placement year - so next year is my last).

So in theory after school I'll have been in education for 5 years! (I personally want to get working, now my placement has given me a taste of things to come and some money).

But it's just the look / way people say 'Are you STILL at uni' like 'Are you still dossing about'.

I could understand this feeling with the number of students that go to uni 'for the sake of it' and do 'Geography' or 'Travel and Tourism' or something doss like that. I study Computer Science and it's not an easy course at all, full packed weeks of lectures / tutourials etc - more exams than most other degree's etc. So it's in no way a doss and in a lot of ways I'd prefere to be at work.

Just annoys me from 'non uni' people there attitude to uni people. As I'm sure the replies to this will reflect, the non uni people going 'fucking dosser students' etc. Even though they have no idea what it's like etc. I should be able to get a decent job - hopefully as a Software Developer, earning decent money when I'm graduated, with experience from placement year too. So what's the problem.

If I thought I could get a well paid job in the field I want, without a degree I would've. But I know my chances will be better with a degree and a years experience, to get a job after graduation than it would've been going straight from school.

I know what you mean. Some people nearly went through the roof when I mentioned that I might be doing my masters after this last year of the degree.

haha These replies could be broken into 'Uni students' / 'Non uni students'.

Exacltly Mase, I don't want to do a master's as I just want to get earning now. But I know people doing master's and people act like they're just going back to be a student another year, but master's aren't easy! Unless your doing a pretty doss course.
