Debating buying one of these. Had a 48 hour test druve and was suprisingly impressed. What's everyone's opinions on these cars? Worth choosing over a fiesta ST?

Not worth choosing over a fiesta st.
A LOT of money for what they are IMO.
Edit: I've never driven one though, so who knows, i was basing my opinion on comparing it with the fiesta st.

I'd own one over an ST any day of the week, the car has been raved on about by the motoring press and especially Evo who's opinion I rate highly.
Fun, great value for money and decent trim level with the fact its built properly....no brainer IMO
The other two cars worth considering in its class are the Fiat Panda 100HP and the Fiat 500 (when it comes out)

girl mate of mine works for a suzuki franchise and takes the demonstrator home every day. Nice little cars imo, go ok, handle ok, niceish interior etc.
No experience of the st though but i'd have the swift.

I'd probably have one over the ST. imho it's something different, there isn't a lot of difference between European/Oriental build quality any more, and I believe the ST is outdated to a certain extent.
I'd also look at the new Mitsubushi Colt

Heard a rumour that you MUST run the Swift's on 98/99 ron fuel or you'll bugger the engine. Worth cheking out anyway to see if it's tue or not - was a friend of a friends bestmates uncles dog style comment of a chap at work .
Also what kind of budget are we talking for one? It's a bit of a "lost" class IMO - bit of a Mild hatch, but probably carry most of the weight in terms of fuel bills, insurance/tax etc as some of the hot hatches.
