hey guys, i was told that the alloys on my car are to wide for me to lower it as the arches would rub on the wheels. i know they are 15" but cant remember the other sizes ill check tomorrow.
i recieved my Haynes manual for modifying corsas today and i saw a bit in there about trimming the arches by cutting them down.
If i did this would i be able to lower my car, i was only gonna lower it about 40mm anyway.
this is the only pic of my alloys i have just now but ill post some up tommorow

If the offset of your wheels is a bit rubbish then probably at 40mm you will have rubbing with quite a few passengers (weight) in your car! Should be ok with no one in the back!
But you should have no problems once modifying the arches!, just take out the bolts and tiger-seal it back on!! or if you want- just trim the inner arch down aswell!

yeah i was gonna trim the actual arches down aswell and then tigerseal the plastic arches back on, any idea how far the bolt holes are from the edge of the arches?
and what about the inner arch liner, would it be ok to leave it on or just take them out aswell?
should i chance 60 mm or just stick with the 40mm?

i've lowered mine 35mm on 15's tyre size 195/50/r15, no rubbing at all even when rammed with people.
