Where is a good place to buy a mountain bike from. Not after an all out downhill bike etc, just want something for getting to work and back, for as cheap as possible aswell

Anyone got any good sites, apart from eBay, as im looking there now.

I just bought one for like £89 from halfords - just nice light weight bike for on road use, 18 gears etc...

I've had it about 2 weeks, already both wheels are buckled and can't select certain gears and the brakes squeek...

Fucking piece of shit. whats the point of the bike / wheels on the bike if they buckle on normal road riding.

I used to work in a bike shop, we sold some cheap bikes around £70 and theyd always come back sooner or later, just made of cheap components and shoddy workmanship. I'd spend at least £150 on a new bike or if thats too much go for a decent second hand bike, if you dont want to keep having to fix it.

I agree - if you want to buy from a reputable retailer, I'd go for Evans Cycles.

If you live in the Hertfordshire area, go to Marshalls Cycles. They have shops iin Stevenage, Hertford and Welwyn.

The bike I'd recommend you getting for just getting to work and back is a Giant Rock, which retails at £165.

If you buy cheap, don't expect it to last at all.

Cheap bikes = a piece of rusting mess out the back of your house

You won't ride it.

Buy a proper bike that fits.

Mongoose aren't bad bikes for the money, nice and light with decent components.

Don't buy cheap, coz they fall to bits.
