Im going to have a look at it today but am a little unsure whether to buy it, im no good and knowing whats right under the bonnet really...dont know anyone who is etc I know the previous two owners have driven it to death but was wondering how many more miles you can guess the engine has left in it?

Long story cut short, i sold my old corsa, now looking to buy another (still a kid at 22 lol) but is roughly a £1000 a good price for it? hes ripped all the ICE out so i'd have to get my own etc...I know hes ahavin problems selling it, is £1000 too much?

Any help/advice/opinion i'll take..cheers.

My first concern would be why is he having problems selling it? How many people have already been to view it, is there something wrong with the car that they've picked up on and decided against buying it? etc etc.
Also the mileage is a bit high for my liking (but then I have a thing about cars with high mileage anyway and I personally wouldn't touch it). What's the service history like, does he have any receipts, is there any MOT documents and information about things that were possibly picked up when previously tested ie: things that may be a problem for you in the future if you were to buy?
Knocks on the the front wing and mirror and sideskirts need touching up you say? Therefore I reckon £1000 is a bit too much cos of what it may cost to get these thing fixed etc? And at the end of the day if you're unsure about buying it, go with your gut feeling. You'll find another corsa/other make of car soon enough- no point rushing in is there

I have to agree that it doesnt sound too good. Personally i'd stay away, either buy one thats not modified or one that has been looked after. You can normally tell as they'll have folders of receipts etc

And like Jill says I personally wouldnt buy anything with that high mileage

Hi, thanks for the advice, i checked it out and now know the reason for all this uncertainty around it. The revs sometimes falls and the engine stops sometimes forcing him to restart the engine in the road. He says it only happens now and again and often only when its cold or just started up. Any ideas what the reason for this could be? and how much to repair, it has obviously been well looked after from what I could see as there is alot of pride been taken in it. thanks
