Over 800bhp I seem to remember, using a Rover T16 engine from a 200/400/600/800 from the 90s.
He has a Maestro too, which runs 12s and has done for years and years.

i was sat behind it in the que at ten of the best. i still feel really out of place from being there. was weird to see all the best cars and be along sde some of them. odd. rover is mental. be it the first fwd uk car to do a 9?

Yes, the record in Brasil now is 9.4 on VW Gol (similar to the old small Golf).
The world record is from Marty Ladwig in a Chevy Cobalt - really amazing, not too long thew will break into the six sec.
