How do I report a stolen tax disc? Can I get a new one

Can get a replacement cheaper that paying for a new one.

It will have "duplicate" stamped on it.

Go to postie that issues tax or phone dvla for the relevant forms.

With all the technology and computer tracking these days I really can't see a need for a piece of paper to prove the car is taxed

Yep, its an offence not to display a tax disc - total shambles

Its all logged onto the police computers whether or not the car is taxed so whats point.

My tax disc is always facing inside the car and upside down anyway

used to get police standing on the side of road's on the 1st of every month checking people's tax disc's weren't out of date just by looking at them from the pavement. this might be why?

i saw someone with tax disc the other day with the date 31/7/07! stupid person!

this thread just reminded me to put my new tax disc in !

Can i start using it from today ? and take my other one out, even though it dosnt run out untill Midnight Tommorow?

I was sitting in traffic not long back and a R1 pulled up in between the lanes - looked down at it and its disc was red dating back to march 2004
