I've just bought a car and need to know if it has a tracker fitted already before i buy a new system. Its a 2004 X5, where would i look to see if it did, as there are no obvious signs and there was no paperwork with the car. Bought it through auction too, so no seller to go back to. The X5 forums are shit and just thought i'd try here!

Should be able to go to the police or something and ask them?

Rumbled! Nah i'm just trying to save the wasted money of buying another! Direct Line won't insure it against theft unless it has one so am a tad keen to find out asap!

hmm might have to ring a few companies with the reg and see what happens.

i used to fit them ytou need to go to tracker them self;s and get them to check the reg number/ chassais number on ther system but also i dont think you can re register them if you have no papaer work

if you have one they are a little black box at the top of the car, my mates dad ghot an x5 and i was there while he fitted the tracker which also had a gatso senasor on it and it was BMW

call tracker themselves and give them the details
doubt they will tell you tho as you could have stolen it and asking them if it has one before ripping it out and shipping it overseas?
