between a

2004 Corsa 1.2 Sxi

or

2004 Corsa 1.3 Cdti

which would you choose and why. I know that jr has one of the 1.3 cdti's and i would just like your opinions. They both cost the same to insure. Would there be any differeance living with either of these cars, 1.3 cdti oviously returns more mpg and am i right in thinking that it would have more poke than a 1.2 16v

Im stating to sway in the favour of the diesel

I have a 2003 1.2 SXI...get the diesel



EDIT: On a serious note, the 1.2 can feel abit gutless for low down acceleration...it's got some poke once you get it up to speed, but getting it there can take some time

fair enough mate. To be fair, I did notice a lot more power going from my 1.4 8v Corsa B to the C, just as i've got used to it, it seems to have slowed down lol. The 1.2 is a nice car TBH

Also take into account any differences in insurence costs and service costs too

as stated insure will be the same on them, already donr quotes. Servicing costs in a bit confused on. Ive been reading reviews and is it tyrue that the 1.3cdti only needs servicing every 20k miles or have i got the wrong end of the stick?

1.3cdti easy. ive always liked them after following Jr to trax last year in my 1.4 16v sport i was amazed how quick it was.

tbh est drive them both but id be having the 1.3 diesal easy

You considered the 1.7cdti?

I cant honestly say which one i would get, would depend on the condition of the car, colour etc etc

Sorry mate, missed that part...as for the servicing, i'm not sure about the diesels.

Just checked on parkers and it looks like the the 1.2 petrol model has more power than the diesel ...I think I would still go for the diesel though if I had the choice again. The 2004 model should be the twinport engine too, I'm not sure how different these drive compared to mine.

Could be worth asking on corsa-c.co.uk mate

I would probably get the 1.3 cdti, my reasons being better fuel economy for driving to Uni and will probably handle motorway speeds better.

Don't get me wrong, the 1.2 16v X12XE/Z12XE engine is quite nippy, having done my Pass Plus in one, and much more comfortable on the motorway than my 12v.

But yeah, the 1.3 cdti!

it will ahve more power, but im sure that it will have less torque so thats why i think it may be a bit quicker

i have one

current done 330 miles and have 1/4 tank left, its £35 to fill the tank

service is 10-16k miles, dash tells you

quick enough for driving, cruises at 80 no problem on the motorway

mine £35 a year to tax
