Finally shifted the 2 litre 8v and invested in this here redtop nova, previously an SR as some may have seen in general chat.

Pretty much looks like a standard nova, which is good, but tbh it still looks a bit old womany.

So......... off come the badges....

Next on the list is to sort out the tracking as its noticably out, and also properly sort out a crank shaft/driveshaft seal thats leaking quite a bit.

The engine is standard apart from a carbon shelled filter and Friedrich Motorsport Power cap. Pulls really well, managed a 6.1 0-60 with me and a mate in the car (im so immature)

Other plans involve mudlaps with the 3 logo's to stop the back looking so weedy, smoothed wiper, sr or gsi spoiler and stripped out with buckets.

Opinions on the car? What would you do (im looking for ideas )

Dan

nice, i'm not really keen on nova's but that looks clean and tidy.

i would colour code the plastic boot handle but that's only because i don't like plastic bits on the exterior of car's.

jsut been out to take some engine pics for you lot to see what you think.

I reckon whoever put the engine in in the first place did a real good job and found a good example of a 2 litre
Enjoy.

Engine + Bay

Induction Kit + pulley cover...

Power cap

4-2-1 with no rust! Im pretty sure its standard as is a bit thin for an aftermarket...

I think its awesome. got to sand down and prime/paint some surface rust on the welding where it was seam welded but apart from that is fine!

As said, what do you think?
Plans are, rebuild after 10k, with throttle bodies and dished pistons (pretty sure thats the name)
Ive had to bodge the air filter on and also the inlet tube as its worse for wear, im off to the scrappy tomorrow...

when i went out in the sun thismorning i noticed the exhaust was megaly dirty - as in months and months of grime.
I stole me dads wonder wheels, which is a light acid and left it on for about 10 minutes, simply hose off and even that nasty tarry stuff you get had gone.
Now looks nice and shiny and cleans up the back more...

this is how i got round to buying the mk2....

here's my old mk1.....

the engine on it blew so then started the recovery of it.......... A simple swap of engines haha.
The start...... New engine arrives!!!!!!! So out comes the old engines oil and the bonnet comes off

(oops - spillage)

Then me and ian went along diconneting all wires and filters etc......

(my new trumpet)

disconnecting wiring and anti-rollbars/brakes etc etc...

engine ready to come out....

my head

POP - Engines out after about 5 hours.....

then i sanded down and painted up the engine bat and crossmembers / light fixings....

(half arsed)

New toy!

connecting starter motor etc etc......

End of job, i look a fart. Went well though

they are just irmscher twin lamps for a nova..

didn't come on all spiders - think they are an optional extra, basically like that styling ranges you get for the new models
