Well folks as some of you may know i had a wee accident in the nova. Was going to just fix the damage then sell it, but decided to go the whole way and build my ultimate dream nova.

Some history of the car so far. bought the car in April from Kano off here, then fitted some cavy gsi wheels for a while

Then went on the trusty old speedlines, astra mudflaps and a set of 80mm rear stock rod springs

Ran around in it for a while just enjoying the car untill i had a wee accident with a renault and it ended up looking like this

So decided to take her off the road and rebuild her and change the engine to a c20let. Now sitting in my garage, started taking bits off ready for a respray in a few weeks. Puting brand new genuine front wings, bonnet and bumpers on which are coming all the way over from luxemborg

Engine plans are where im focusing, wanting a strong reliable engine, power aim is 280bhp minimum, hoping for 300 mark though. Plans are

Phase 3 LET
Courtney fast road cams
vxr injectors
steel headgasket
arp bolts
uprated pistons
OE Throttle body
Maybe a hybrid turbo, but i doubt it.

Interior will be getting set about aswell. Front seats are away getting retrimmed in leather and black cloth as we speak, doorcards are also away. Going to fit a black carpet (well spray paint the standard one ) A hald white roll cage will also be getting fitted.

Handling the suspension will be gaz gold coilovers, whiteling arp and superflex all round.

Will try and remember to update this as i go along.

Planning on a f28 box, had the f20 in my old turbo corsa and it was pretty much useless from standing start.

Probably wont be long till i sell it Jambo, i seem to spend thousands on cars then sell them on as soon as im finished

prob doesnt need it but better to be safe than sorry. if it doesnt need aligned, an hour will do it

Well i finally got set in about the car today! Got the bodywork bits off that are getting replaced. Brand new wings, bonnet, bumper and sideskirts to go on. Then tackled the job of removing the engine, was nice and easy didnt get any hassle apart from one bolt that stripped on the manifold, but managed to hammer on a 10mm socket and get it off.
Glad to say the project started off without a hitch.

Set about taking the panels off

Then onto the engine, thats me in the ford overalls

Finished off with a nice empty bay ready to get seam welded.

Next to do is seam weld the engine bay and fit the chris astley strenghening (sp) kit i bought. Then will be going for paint

Hows that? Just a case of welding panel into door and smoothing over. Everything should just (hopefully) line up fine for catches etc

yeah welding panel into door in exactly the same place on either side.

welding the joints up solid (or it will sink over time) distorting the door with the heat. then repairing the damage.

alot of work in that. should only be a case of making/adapting new rods from ur lock to the new handle etc as ud be using the original nova locking mechanism, only diff would be the handle etc
