I was left some money by my grandad (who lives in Australia).
It was a fair amount of money and wanted to do something with it that would remind me of him.
So yesterday i ordered a 'Paladium' (not gold/silver/platinum) ring which i will get his name engraved into the inside of.
Has anyone ever been in this position?

Pointless buying something like that with it IMO, nice gesture though.
If I was leaving money to someone Id rather they invested it or just went out and enjoyed themselves with it.

Depends how much you have. Property is always a good bet.

I got left quite a bit of my nan.
It's currently sitting in the bank as far as I know earning interest for when I come to buy myself a house.

I agree with Cosmo on this to a certain extent. But I would still use a small amount of the money for something of sentimental value, but not blow the whole lot

I was left quite a bit when my uncle died. The vast majority is in the bank as a depoist for a house.

Pretty much, brother got some too. Was someone my Dad knew, and helped with their accounts for a few years (for free!).
