I was being an utter twat last night racing a vectra 
I didnt see the helecopter and 99% sure it wasnt out cause ive never seen one in the area I was in, its a case of "might"

I'd say there are far too many variables to get an accurate speed from a helicopter TBH.

Probably not do you for speeding but dangerous driving instead. They could of followed you home or somthing or sent a police car out to investigate and told them the location of your car etc.

They can do you if its filmed.
They measure out the distance of road, then work out how long it took you to drive from point to point.

They can - most motorways and a lot of A roads have white markers squares which are painted on, if you are timed between those then your speed can be measured.
Only generally works on straight roads though and only is an average. Can also be done with bridges but would require the distance to be known before speed could be.
I'm sure they could also technically do you and present video evidence of due care / DD / that type of thing although its an expensive way of giving someone traffic points.

Wouldnt worry tooooo much tbh, Ians right but coppers generally use those boxes as devices on the ground (my dad got a caution for 85 with a copper and a stopwatch)
