Quick question:
Newly fitted speed camera, barely noticeable....
... The white lines haven't been painted on the road for the camera yet, can it still do you for speeding???
Had to slam the brakes at about 4am this morning, just noticed it
(Just after Hackney Jobcentre, going towards Whitechapel way - hidden camera behind a tree, thought i'd let you guys know if you're heading in that direction)

if there are no lines, the unit may not have been calibrated yet. They use the lines to calculate the speed, so I should imagine you will be safe

At least one of the Truvelo's around here doesn't have the white lines on the road. I'd presume they're fully functional cameras, and due to using the sensors in the road don't need the white lines.

no, you cant be done, basically the lines are there to backup the evidence from the camera of your speed.
the images get sent to the partnership offices where someone counts the lines its taken you to travel between the two images, i think one line = 5mph, if this backups the cameras evidence then the fine is issued, without this the case wouldnt stand up strongly in court

What Steve said, every camera needs lines (apart from average spped traps )
