Who told you that?
If its a laptop then yeah, i wouldnt leave it turned on. However if its a PC then you can leave it on but just turn the monitor off

Always turn mine off at work and home (PC and laptop). Don't like to think of it burning away all the time when I don't need it.
TBH, TFT screens don't get affected like the old CRT used to. The image would burn on the screen if left, but TFTs don't do that so not much need to bother with screensavers and the like.

is there any need for you to keep it on 24/7? or can you just not be bothered turning it off? seems like a waste of money in electric bills having it on if it isn't needed all the time
