I was wondering what it takes to get Whittie as an Organiser.

He has made the effort to inform and update everyone about the meets and has always turned up (not a dig).

Yeah but he;s only done 2 meets.

There is only one person that has turned up to every single meet and thats Gaz..

So if your on about dedication it should go to him.

TBH you'd have to talk to Lisa and Ian about it, but we currently only have Lisa as an organiser but she has a busy life and isnt online much.

Its a big job which requires not only organisational ability and commitment for local stuff but also the ability to bring the region to national events, resolve any moderation issues that may arise in the forum, engage in development of our offline presence and maintain a professional outlook while representing the site.

I think Gaz and Whittie would both be excellent although we've not advertised officially for the position so I've insufficient information to make a judgement in here. Either way, the region already has Lisa who is doing a fantastic job and I would like to fully involve her in such a decision, as well as getting agreement from the other staff.

That make sense.

But i'm sure that there is no harm in more people being able to help out in organising the meets and at the big shows.

You said your self that Lisa is busy. I can't speak for her but i'm sure that she's be glad for the help.

I agree tbh - Alex does a great job at organising, gets peopel fromall over in - Fro and I (from Essex and Windsor) came to the lastest NWNW meet, and if it wasnt for the turnout, I wouldnt have gone.

I agree, I've been the only person at a SouthCentral meet once

The turnout and warm welcomes are what makes me travel, that and destroying old people in Yaris's on the M6

The one I was dicking about with was 5 up with coffin dodgers and it was constantly in the fast lane sans any traffic at all.

Whittie gets my vote. I think Gaz would be just like Adam B and Lisa and active now and again. He leads a busy life with work, Kat, family and Urban Monkeys.

NWNW meets would not be the same without Gaz, Lisa and Adam B though. I missed Lisa on Sunday Will have to give her a call later in the week.

I agree about it not being about voting. I just think Whittie spends a lot of time on here and meeting people that we need someone like him to bring more people to meets rather than just adding another organiser as we already have two really good ones.

To be honest, I dont know how to reply to this thread

Thanks for the kind words, but at the end of the day it is up to the staff, but Lisa is doing a great job as it is, and as she's doign a good job, i doubt there will be any need for anybody else?

As for pow's comment "Alex does a great job at organising, gets peopel from all over"

To be fair, that was a one off, as it was a "day out" You can't expect people from all over to come to all the NWNW meets.

I'll happily help lisa out wherever I can either way.
