How many of you put away money for retiral??

I dont(just now), mainly because I feel like I struggle enough through my youth without even having to think about being an oap

I think 30's the time to start planning further ahead, so who else cant wait to be old 7 skint??

Will do it when I'm earning more. Prob when I'm more like 30. Its hard enough as it is at the moment without more outgoings!

i have my state and my NHS pension paid my NHS one for last 5 years, had a letter off council not long ago saying i will get at least 128 a week from state and ill get more than that from NHS, if i die before that, my mom/wife gets 2x my salary, never to early to start saving

Dont need to start til your 30 really.

Ive had one since I was 18 as I got offered a good deal with the NHS. Can have it all back in a lump sum if i want anyway within the first 3 years

Or after that if i leave it gets froozen and builds interest til im old, probably would have forgotten by then and it will be a good suprise.

Hahaha!! I can't save for the weekend far less the future

I hardly had my foot in the door in my present job, when I got a phone call from Scottish Widows, the guy has been out to see me twice trying to convince me to join the Company Pension Scheme. I'd pay 4% of my annual salary into the scheme and my employer would pay an additional 9%. I told him to ram it, I might regret it when I'm older but atm its the last thing on my mind

am 20 and put into a pension, theory being start early enough then you save in long run, as leave it to long then you have to put more in each month to get a decent amount

Have been paying into my pensions since leaving school at 18, any one who thinks the can just keep putting it off and putting it off and still have a decent standard of living when they are old are going to be very disappointed unless they are very sucessful in their career.

I'm in the process of moving my pension to Ireland to allow me to buy residential property with it's funds as I already have a couple of apartments and would like to have to the freedom in the future to invest my pension in the property market.

Not necy true, its much better to concentrate on property etc before a pension IMO, 30 is not too late to begin saving

Pensions and savings are bollocks. Putting money into property is the way forward.
