hi all

Today when i went to park up at the gym i go to and then i realised that my car was p*ssing water out from the bottom as i was walking away. And i thought " im screwed" so i left it for an hour for it to cool down. Then after i put some water into the tank it wasnt a lot but it had to do for my drive home, then when i was driving i saw the temperature guage going up when im stood stationary then when i'm driving it slowly goes down. To put my mind ease even though my head is still all over the place i took it to my local garage and explained the situation, so the mechanic gave it the once over and came out with the possibilities that either my waterpump is playing up or my headgasket. so its been booked in on monday and hopefully it should be sorted out i hope and it doesnt help that i've got work on monday so i'm going to have to book a day off. If the worse does come how much would a headgasket cost rougly?

sorry for the essay just needed to get it off my chest

if it is the headgasket you shud look around for a cheap prices, cos prices do really range and can go very high. If its just the water pump i wudnt imagine it being too dear

I had my head gasket go on my old 1.4 sport.

Cost about £600

This was including rocker cover gasket, new timing belt kit, air con recharge and various other general service bits like oil, filter and coolant etc.

I have noticed in all corsa's ive been in the temperatue gauge does sit high in traffic though. I just pull my air con switch out and it keeps a fan on the radiator at all times (good for sitting in traffic)

surely the HG wouldn't piss out water as described though. I've had two moments regarding pissing out water within two weeks both have been nothing more than split hoses.

If it was your head gasket the you would have mayo under your oil cap, and when you put the water back in did it disaper again? if it was pissing out then sounds like a hose, dont let the garage rip you off by sayin it could be the headgasket and it turns out it aint

mine was pissing out, because the pressure was massive, no mayonnaise clolur under the cap, and no white smoke. block test and compression test indicated headgasket

i did a block test on mine and plus it was very smokey which also led me to think it was the headgasket.
