Geek day maybe? If so can it be moveddddddddddddddddd.
I know a lot of people on here are employed in IT in some capacity and I'd like their input
The basics are that I'm looking to retrain in something IT-based. I've got web-programming experience and a good understanding of how to program as well as general hardware stuff like networking/repair/building. Basically I'm a bit of a geek as a whole
I'm very conscious of how easy I'll be able to get a job after the training and apprenticeships seem to be out of the question However, CCNA seems to be an option as does software/programming courses.
Erm. Thanks for reading

Would you say one area of IT was more over/under saturated though?
That was meant for Willay btw

Dont really get exposed to alot of areas, I know my sector (electronic trading systems) isnt saturated, we need some good people and the community is small still (compared to others).
When it comes to IT, if you are really into it I say follow your heart, if web design is your thing then do that, if you have the hots for system design then find somewhere that will allow you to do that.

I finished uni 3 months ago and have applied to hundreds of IT jobs. I'm not going to give up! As willay said, follow your heart.

My tip would be that experience counts for everything in IT. Don't set your sights to high, like any job you've got to be prepared to put the years in. You can have all the certificates and letters after your name but if you haven't been exposed to the technology in a real world situation you will be overlooked for somebody that has.

im doing a degree in computer science and go back in october for my final year, took a year out this year for a student placement in EADS Astrium, a very large company, part of Airbus. I have been doing computing aided engengineering, its a bit of everything. This means i have at least one years experience when i leave next year or the oppoptunity to go back there so it shouldn't be too differcult to find a job i hope. Everyone finds it differcult which ever industry you are in, just for for it mate
