r32s can be had for under 15know anyways

massive difference in price so cannot reallt compare the 2
It would have to be the golf on those 2 - seems an odd decsion considering there could be up to 7k difference between the cars

not really a fair comparison!
Would be better to compare an R32 to a VXR as more around the same price!
If you can afford the R32 then deffo go for it as its that money for a reason, the reason being its a much better and rarer car!
It depends on what you want from the car, if its just more speed then you could look at so many other cars, VX220, S2000, Clio V6 depends what you want!

id love an r32 but im getting engaged + house and r32 would stretch my budget however astra gsi wouldnt

well you have answered your own question
R32 is noce but once you get used to it, that would be it
When you got your GTI you loved it now your bored
Keep level headed and get what suits your lifestyle etc
All cars get boring after a while

if your getting married id go for the astra, it probably more sensible for everyday use than the R32
