gerry from http://www.performancetek.co.uk came down, compression test revealed number 1 cylinder had no compression, rest were fine.

took off rocker cover, nothing obvious, so put a little oil down the bore, fired the compression tester on again, went a bit better, 4 bar.

decided to stick it all back together, so gerry could hear the terrible noises, a cough, slight rattle, and plenty of smoke due to the oil, and it purred sweet as a nut!

turns out that there must of been some shit sticking a valve open, causing the banging noise and lack of compression.

done about 30miles tonight and all is well, managed to survive without even a bent valve, soo soo happy

was absolutely shitting it about needing a new engine, ta gerry!!

it was suffering from "i dont want to be a reliable honda, i want to be a jam doughnut for a week" syndrome.

i'm so so so so so so so fuckin happy its unreal.

the engine shit itself at idle so thats how its managed to not bend a valve, but yeah, some shite stuck somewhere causing the valve to stick open.

nah, i think its more the oil was too good.

the night before i changed it to 0-40 fully synthetic mobil 1, which is best for it, i reckon its dislodged some shite somewhere along the way.

It tried to commit suicide as it could not believe how shite its uk cousins are and the high incidence of civic type aRse syndrome was just too much for the poor bugger
