Makes no sense, a 16yr old gets 44 grand through the post tells his parents who then tell the police

Im glad im not the only one that thinks thats fucked up. Granted I once found £300 in a brown bag in the local shopping center & my parents made me take it to the police but this is slightly different

If they suspect it's from criminal activity or part of a monry laundering operation then it can be seized. It then goes before a Court and the burden of proof is on the owner to prove that it was obtained legally. They only need reasonablr belief once it's seized it goes before the Court the next day and they decide how long the Police have to carry out their enquires.

how can they suspect its from criminal activity though....they had nothing to go on other than someone got it accidently through the post.

It was obtained legally - it was a gift.

He only needs to send an email to himself, spoof the from address 'Dear young lad, this will give you a good start in life, regards ps2seller2007 x x'

it makes no difference if its normal or not. There is no law against not being normal. The police have zero reason to suspect its been obtained illegally.
