my car just decided to break down
was reversing out of a parking space and it just clonked out, i thought i stalled so switched it back on and started driving. in the next 2 mins it cut out again. no lights came on just cut out completely when i went round a corner. started it again as i was nearly home and it cut out again just at the bottom of my road. any one got any ideas as to what it could be?
no lights came on at all until the car had completely cut out

just wiggle the terminals and see if they are loose and then tighten them up. I would tighten them up 4 good measure

My old astra did this let a chick do some driving lessons in it and it conked out, in my mind i blamed her
It was just a loose connection on the alternator, when it was touching it would work going over a slighest bump and it would conk out even a little to heavy on the clutch or brakes would be enough to cut it out.
Defo sounds electronic related which in a way is a good thing

Should have "put in a way" in big capped bold letters
I personally would rather an fuse or coil blow then a head gasket or gearbox.
But all to there own i guess.
