is it normal for a bit of oil to come out in the red box of the photo.
if i run my finger along it it has oil on it? is this normal

The cam cover gasket is leaking.

Change the gasket. Or make sure the bolts are tight.

Altho you may get smoke from oil dripping onto the exhaust

It's not really a leak unless it's dripping out... A bit of residual oil isn't really that much of a problem IMO
