I was having a good old look around in HALFORDS (AKA RIP OFF EXPRESS) and asked about getting some Oil Additive (cus my car burns oil when going fast )

A lad showed me a bottle called "No Smoke" - I bought it for just a £5 and I have noticed a slight difference in that it doesn't smell so fumey and the oil is lasting a bit better!

have any of you tried it?

never used them, never will. if an engine has a problem, fix it. additives tend to make fixing it a lot harder when you eventually get round to it.

It might have filled a hole. So when it's time to fix it...... you can no longer find the broblem.

its because people ignore proper services, dont bother actually fixing things like stem seals and piston rings and instead use oil flush and bodgey additives

true, but my engine was only on 69k in the red one, had full service history and only did 4000 miles a year and was recalled for the earlier problem about the bores or something, but yet its still doing it even though it has every service stamp etc.

mate surely if I had the £££ I would get it fixed.. app its a hard job to do due to the fact you need to take the bottom end apart!?

Mine only smokes If I rev it hard... apart from that it's fine
