RAC and AA seem to be coming in about £70 with recovery, is there any way to pay this monthly?

Though basic was £39, I take that doesn't include towing you anywhere?

i think halfords offer their brakedown service for around 40 quid equiv to others arouynd 70

I pay £50 for the year with RAC, think my brother and stepdad does too so altogether its £150.. But Ive used it 3 times to get recovered and another time I was miles from home in my mates car and they recovered us for free...

Oh and the RAC guy fixed my car when I thought it needed a new engine...

DEFFO recommend them
