Good cars, comfortable, reliable providing they're looked after. They see great gains after a Revo stage one Re-map about 40-50bhp iirc. Interior can be a bit rattly which is unusual for VAG cars. Steer away from chipped ones. Don't go near one with an atmospheric DV as the general rule is that they don't take well to them at all. Best to get a forge 007p re-circ.

This was mine after i got rid of the GTI...

We do lots of work on these, mainly custom exhausts and decats.

I like them, comfortable and fun but a bit soft and uninspiring compared to a 106 gti. In standard form performance is very dissapointing.

As Dave said, standard it will be slower than your GTI, quite comfortable though... not much fun to drive though

Forget the mk3, get a mk2

The lads up the road at the SEAT garage all agree with me that the mk2 and mk4 are both better than the mk3

I love mine.

Certainly not boring to drive! Who ever said that.

Granted they aren't rocket ships but they are comfortable, tuneable, nice to look at, all round good package for the money.

I very much doubt that a 106 GTI would beat an Ibiza cupra. For a start the ibiza is turbo,d,meaning it will leave the gti on take-off.

Why??

People have different views on whats quicker. Personally, ive beat loads of saxos and 106's standard. But yet others have beat standard ibizas with thier saxos/106's.

well as you know Ben has one, and in standard form i could pull past him, with his intercooler and turbo back we were level, and with his revo he pulls loads, and thats been tried and tested many many times.

theyre possibly one of the only cars id buy at the moment, one of them or a 182.

couple of mates have them, theyre very quick with the right tuning add-ons and seem to have a very little problems. mates on revo stage 1 map, so 200 ish horses was running a 14.7 on strip. thats enough to beat saxo's and 106's, in std form its one of those, might win might lose

Well ive found one for a good price, highish mileage but motorway miles and has FSH which is a must so ive been told

Mods wise its got a CAT back milltek 2.5" exhaust, Re-circ dump valve and been lowered and thats it so a good base to start with

Unfortunatly I cant view it till monday as the guys on holiday so been trying to find out as much about them as possible, if I do buy the first thing on the list will be rear spacers then a blueflame downpipe with sport cat, probably custom code it than revo then fit a forge TIP to hold the boost a bit better, should see 210bhp then, afaik the ko3s is a good upgrade as well and wont break the bank

Thats right guys a Turbo on a car Defo means its Faster than an N/A one End off????

No but really as above standard the Cupra would be a little slower yes it has nore power the the extra safey features and build quality mean its weighs quite a bit more than a standard 106GTi and with little or no money spend a 106 can be at 140Bhp rather quick where as a cupra,

with things such as Intercooler exhaust and Revo ur looking at over a £1000 to take it past a 106 and £200Bhp

For less than £500 you can take the Cupra to in the region of 190bhp. You don't need £1k to make it faster than a 106.

IMO.

I've yet to race a 106GTi but I wouldn't mind a play with one.

Is a far better car than a 106 all round IMO
