well, after a miss matched colour match on the new front bumper we got for a mates 200sx, and the cost of painting it again being nearly as much as just painting it a new colour, we went to work last week

the painting was a case of white base coat, neon orange colour, then lacquer.

how it started, kinda orange pearl colour.

damage which caused all the hassle.

stripdown

bit of boot flatting

who needs a welder when you have fibreglass matting

filled a wee dent in the door, appeared to be some filler work before

another couple of small dents

random

getting there

the back bumper was full of cracks, so ground them down and a bit of filler to build it back up, the paint only lasts about a year before it fades so when its sprayed again it'll get a new rear anyway.

dont ask about the masking, wasnt me

sexy sanding boy

all taped up

THE RANDOM BOX OF MYSTERY! well, box of bolts n screws

sillyness

professional helper poles, which are essential when sticking skirts on

um...

the owner in question

white base coat

and...thats it for now, neon is on, lacquer in on, but still to be completely flatted and polished then rebuilt, its looking good

i'm gonna keep pics of it painted til its completely flatted and polished at least and outside, the colour in daylight is rediculous yes, severely silly! i've flatted the 1/4 panel with 1500 then 2400 then g3'd then 3m finessed it and its absolutely spot on.

its not being kept the same?? neon orange is way different to the orange that was on it, only lasts a year...so, didnt cost much white is for the base coat, needed for the orange.

thats the most similar colour i can find, but the 200sx seems brighter.

the wheels will be mint..

they're getting refurbed in black, then rubbed down, with the lips painted neon orange to match the car, then the whole wheel covered in silver holographic metalflake lol.
