I've decided the 1.2 is going. Ill be welding it up, doing the brakes, etc for the MOT, then once its MOT'd, ill tax it etc. Is it worth me doing any mods to it that would increase the value by a fair bit? Ie, fit a 1.4 SPI engine, paint the wheels white, lower, add a real GSI spoiler etc.

The car as it sits (kinda)

Not right now, needs a bit of welding, then the brakes, thats all really. Its only worht £100 max atm id say, as its not MOT'd or taxed. Rekon mot'd and taxed in the current condition would be worth say £350, with the arches done, wheels painted, GSI spoiler and lowered say £550 maybe, depends on the buyer.

Would prob cost me £50 to do the arches and wheels, £40 for springs & £40 for a gsi spoiler, so £130, plus getting the MOT and tax, so say £230 to get it on the road clean.

Just read what I typed, wouldnt make my money back

Might just paint the arches up, and the GSI spoiler, as theres holes in the boot from the fake one

Could never insure one, selling this then saving untill I can get a MK1 Clio, 1.4 RT is 80bhp, yet £100 cheaper to insure than the corsa

Still only 16 anyway, still got time

All it needs that will cost me is rear brakes, and front pads. Already have 2L clipers and disks, a new handbrake cable, and other wee bits that I got for nothing off my brother. Also, any welding that needs done, he can do it

Can you not afford to insure a 1.4 sport?
