The head gasket went and boiled dry, had the head skimmed and re newed all the gaskets and rebuilt. Would not start because the hydrolic tappits seemed to take ages to charge. Once started it seems to run ok but lumpy on idle about 500-600rpm on tic over. Before the head gasket went it started instantly without any problems but now you need to put your foot on the accelerator to get it started. It still seems as if there's no compression when trying to start it without the accelerator.Could the throttle body have been affected when the head gasket went?Or has anyone got any ideas as to what could be causing this problem?

the throttle cable would have been removed to do the head gasket, see if it needs adjusting
