Go for it.
Some silly big powered cars there, but some of them are too powerfull and it makes them slower.

Practice, your lines, braking, early acceleration, and get Adam to put some more power in it, and theres no reason why you couldn't get a decent place.

Got your heel toe braking sorted yet?

Nope...not a chance...I don't think I'm that co-ordinated

I'm booked on an open pit track morning the same day, so will have all morning to practice.
Need to memorise where the cones are for the racing line before they take them off for the event

I'm hoping to enter the full thing next year...so the practice will do me good.
Got a trackday organised for Brands in August and a weekend at Donnington and Silverstone in November, so I should get to try all the tracks in the event first.

Practice on the roads. tbh, its taken me a while, as you can only really do it when your hard braking. Very hard to do it when braking normally.

Not insulting your skills, but hows your lines? I've not seen a video of you, but the amount of videos online I have seen of people taking the most weird lines into corners which can loose so much time as it ruins the exit out etc.

Don't always go by the cones, they arn't always right. I've found that using the cones sometimes means you turn in too late/early and screws the whole corner up.

Get on the videos, and look at some motor racing in car videos, use their lines, they will always be the best.

I think its really good a non company is entering, esp driven by a women. Good luck to you (i though you guys were moving to thailand or something though?).

If you need a replacment driver for a day ..........

Foot position
Timing
Concentrating on doing a few things at once.

Some cars its easy, some its hard, depends on pedal positions.

Don't make out its easy, it isn't. To master it properly takes practice and its very hard to do at normal braking speeds effectivly.

Best practiced when really hard on the ancors as your applying a fair amount of force through your foot.

yes...possibly tootling along the road...try doing it at 100+mph on track

I think my lines at knockhill are pretty good....I've had lots of practice there and a 1 on 1 tuition day with one of the instructors.
I definitely know that I've improved a fair bit over the past few months.

If you look at last years records from Knockhill
http://www.timeattack.co.uk/lap%20records.asp
that's the quickest times for each type of car
I think the fastest that I've had timed before is 1m4
I think I could get it down to 60secs

1min 4secs.

7 seconds off the winning time. Thats quite a lot. But then yours/adams car is pretty mild spec isn't it? Brakes, suspension, IC, zorst filter, boost controller? So theres a lot more to do IF you wanted to. But tbh, if you can get within a few seconds, you should be chuffed. You've not spent a good £50k on performance parts (if not more) like the companies have.

CS, left foot braking is easy, only usefull if your entering corners which don't require a gear change. Which is very unlikley on track. Maybe round the local 1 way system...... Or you have an F1 paddle shift, which not even the 106 has.....

daimo - there is more pressing things to get right/worry about over heel toeing at this point in time.

Fee just needs an extra push to get her driving quicker. The 64sec lap she did was pretty easy. Early braking, no drama's.

I've done a 63 with traffic.

Under no illusions that Fee will win but just want her to do the best she can. The cars is running around 400-450 when at 1.2bar

(oh i set the 63sec at 0.9bar in traffic)

Mostly i think it'll give Fee a good idea if she wants to do the whole thing next year.

The car is far from near the Spec of the PRO class cars, but it's not too far off the Club cars. Maybe about 200bhp less than most of the other GTR's

Oooooo a fair bit more than I thought

Looks a good spec though, and thats a really good suspension unit. Have you tinkered around with the settings at knockhill to help get a better feel from the car? Could give you a bit of an advantage

I'll look forward to seeing Fees results if she does it. I'd LOVE to have a car to do it in for some fun. You should try to get some sponsership from somewhere

Got any videos of fee on track at knockhill?

the whole car isnt really ready... have about 70% of the fuelign gubbins on order... once thats done 600+ bhp

Susp setup feels 'fine' just now. Too many niggling build problems just now to give time to play with it. Once the car is stable i'll get some more adjutable camber arms etc to help it.

I've had a wee play with the rebound and compression - changed the ride height slightly again. Feels best on 'soft' settings for now though as i think the chassis is still too soft for the mega tuff suspension.

To compare, my pal Neil does 60.5 sec laps of K'hill in a 2.0 carb'd zetec powered Mk2 XR2. (180bhp)

He's now doing the HSCC.

Good luck with it I'm thinking of entering the full series next year with a LOT more mods than current spec.
