Just wondering if anyone has made any modifications just as a novelty?

Some of you may have seen it in my project thread but i added a push button start to my Corsa, just because i could and it looked cool

So anyone else done the same?

Push Button Start

Like i say, its a novelty before anyone asks "why?"

So anyone made any mods for the novelty?

Well, you need a Golf R32 backbox to do it. It has a valve controled by an actuator. However my one has a busted actuator so I either need to find a new actuator or just fit a solenoid in place.

You don't need the R32 back box. Just buy the exhaust valve, as it just needs fitting into your exhaust and is less bodging.

Well, actually you do need a back box like the one from an R32. If you had seen how they worked you woulnd't have made a stupid comment like that.

The box has one pipe that goes straight through the silencer and one which bypasses most of the silencer. The pipe which bypasses the silencer is closed by the valve until you floor it causing vacuum to open the actuator. However my one has a broken actuator so I can either weld the valve open, fit a new actuator or use a solenoid.

Also, it's not less bodging to fit a valve. It's not bodging at all to fit the exhaust it's the back box I want on my car as it's a proper dual exit - I'm not fitting it because of the valve it has fitted on it.

Stupid comment? Hardly. I merely commented on the fact that you can get the valve and have it controlled electronically either via a switch or even wire it up so it changes over at a certain level of boost if you have a turbo/supercharger.

Its just a valve that you fit between two sections of the exhaust and seems to me that it'd be easier to fit that, rather than a back box and system intended for a different car.
