passport/driver lisence. Recent utility bill, possibly national insurance number. You need this for an ISA but cant reemember if you do for an account. I think its just a couple of forms of ID with your name and address and smething to show your signature. May be wrong tho

I'm in the process of opening a Halifax account, they need to see my passport/ photo card driving licence, a letter sent to my home address showing my name and a utility bill if thats appropriate. And I need to take these in person, they won't accept them being sent in the post

Opening an account with Halifax will be the worst thing you'll ever do.

Im with Barclays at the moment and i find them really shit, kept getting silly little charges that kept mounting up. One min u would be paying a couple of quid for something, then u would get a letter every 2 months and it had doubled. Im just in the process of moving over to HSBC

ive just opened a bank account with Natwest, i had nothing with my address on it, phone up inland revenue and ask for your tax code to be sent to you, banks can use that as proof of address

Ive been with Barclays for about 7yrs now, not had one problem with them yet.

It really makes me laff when people complain about being charged for going overdrawn.

Instead of blaming the bank why not manage your finances propperly and you wont get into shit in the 1st place.
