Hey...

MOT is due fairly soon. Do you think my front brake pads will pass in the condition they are in? They have plenty left on the they're just a bit well...

have they melted?

are they like that on the back?
unless he can see them through the wheel and the backs are fine u should be ok!

They should pass. It goes on a set of rollers while brakes are applied and tester looks at the readout to see if there is an imbalance or are just nakerd. I wouldnt change them anyway.

The back ones are fine. The front ones are like that since I went to Croft. The car isn't used often so I am hoping not to have to change them

I didn't think they checked how 'worn' or the 'condition' of them, more how effective they are?

they are checked on how worn they are, i mean are the pads on the other side of the disk the same?

I dont even think wheels are removed in an mot. Id say they look ok anyway. Dont see why you even considered changing em?

I'd pass them, you can fail them for being worn i think its 1mm left on them as long as they pull up in the rollers you'l be fine
also if you got wheels on where you cant see the pads they cant fail cos if you cant see it you cant fail it

Tim, aslong as your breaks work within the parameters they will be fine.

Go to my uncles garage oposite the big breakfast cafe jus next to the traffic lights on westgate bridge.

place is called MOT testing centre, cant miss em Big white building

telephone 01524 33387, although you dont need to book mot's they are done on demand
