what are these engines like to tune?
My mate's thinking of putting one in his nova - has roughly (probs about 3/4bhp more than the 20seh i have so he can try beat me )
I know its from a Vectra B but im not sure how easy they are to tune as i know nowt about them. He wants to find out before buying it.

same as most engines really to tune-
kid on mig has one in a mk3 astra with throttle bodies running a reliable 190 bhp
they are a weaker engine than a red top though.
if i was doing a conversion i would just buy a c20 as rebuilt ones are easy to find now for cheap prices.

best bit about the X20 is that it has a strong block which is good for building in to a LET, but there is no need in an XE,
The X20's are good as an engine as i know because i own one, they really are no better or worse than a redtop as they just make power differently, more torque but dont rev as much, its down to personal choice,
price of forged internals and all the other required bits would buy you a mint freshly rebuilt XE Redtop, i know what i would rather have
