AA Route planner says there is a petrol station at Loaninghead?? then NOTHING...

Only run floptimax/veetower in the corsa... and as its 250 miles from end to end pretty much, where the hell is a petrol station, specifically Shell, along the way??

Surely there has to be one...

i have this...

just done a complete full engine rebuild (top & bottom ends) so the 1000-mile round-robin trip to tesco or whatever near john o groats for some crisps will run the engine in just nicely

if your running it in then you cant do silly revs! so should do 250 to a tank easily

and surely an oil change is needed after about 500miles?

glasgow -> inverness - 164

Surley not? The inverness to end sounds right, as inverness is 70 miles from where I live, then another 40 odd is john o groats.

When you come to helmsdale petrol station, pop in, I might be working, when are you making the drive? Ill be there every day this week between 4 and 6pm, and most of saturday and sunday

when I ran me engine in mate, I started it up for the first time, let it reach operating temperature (about 90) then drained the oil and changed it, then changed it after 200 miles, then again at 500 then again at 1000. Now it gets changed every couple of months. Runs very smoothly! I would recommend it doing it that way, and definitely use the best oil you can afford!

I always use gm oil, and change regularly as it is.

Already done 1 change since the build with just running the engine at idle to check for leaks, etc. next one will be done when I get to north scotland, then a final 3rd back home. pretty much similiar to the last corsa I had tbh in regards to oil changes after a major rebuild, just the other way up the country!

what did you do for rpm at different mileage? also what oil did you run the engine in using?
